Marc Lemmer is an advisor to the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD) after his 6-years mandate as a Commissioner which ended on April 30, 2025. Presently he continues leading the guidance division which includes the public information request desk, production of guidance and awareness content, knowledge management and communication. Before his nomination in 2019 by the Luxembourg Government for a mandate of six years, Marc was an independent business development advisor and had several leadership positions within the Luxembourg innovation ecosystem. He gained an extensive experience in public research and technology transfer, as well as in digitalization, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and business development challenges across different public and private industry sectors. Marc holds a master in chemistry from the LMU Munich, a PhD from the University Paris Marie Curie and an MBA from Université de Lorraine.
Mr Lemmer will present the CNPD's mission, its organisation, structure, and core activities, supported by key facts and figures. He will also highlight the main areas of interaction between the CNPD with ALFI and IFMs, focusing on specific topics such as data protection, KYC/AML, and AI. The presentation will address current challenges in these areas and explore how evolving regulatory expectations are shaping cooperation and compliance efforts.
