Mr. Surply brings over twenty-five years of experience to his role as Associate General Counsel, where he leads the European Legal Funds Group team.
At Franklin Templeton International Services S.à r.l., Mr. Surply is a member of the Executive Committee, overseeing strategic legal and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions. His responsibilities encompass the legal operations of a strategic dual-licensed Luxembourg Management Company, including its 10 branches across Europe and the management of over 230 Luxembourg and Irish-based AIFs and UCITS, with total assets exceeding 100 billion AUM and distributed in 52 countries.
Since 2007, Mr. Surply has been an engaged member of the Luxembourg Fund Association, now serving on the ALFI Regulation Advisory Board, and active member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA).
Before joining Franklin Templeton, he was part of the M&A division at Linklaters Luxembourg. Mr. Surply began his career in 1999 in Shanghai, where he advised on tax and corporate matters, facilitating direct foreign investments in China.
