Maria Ekqvist has an extensive work experience in the asset management industry in different legal, compliance and governance roles. She has done her Master’s programme in Law in University of Helsinki and started her career in the Finnish Financial Supervision Authority after which moving to the asset management industry. She has worked both in Finland and in Luxembourg in different roles and has experience leading different cross border compliance. legal and governance teams. Currently she is Head of Governance Office in Nordea Asset Management, consisting of teams accountable for Business Law, Fund Law as well as Governance Processes. She is also one of the Conducting Officers of Nordea Investment Funds S.A. with main focus on product development and product governance matters.
