Urs Hofer is a counsel with the Banking& Finance Team in Zurich. He speciali‐ses in the regulation of financial ser‐vices and financial institutions and the structuring, issuance, listing, trading and offering of financial instruments with a particular focus on asset ma‐nagement, derivatives and structured products and all types of open-end and
closed-end collective investment schemes covering all asset classes and in‐vestor categories. Urs Hofer represents domestic and international fund management companies, asset managers, representatives of foreign collective in‐vestment schemes, distributors, banks, securities firms, insurance companies, pension funds and investment foundati‐ons before the Swiss regulatory autho‐rities and advises them in regulatory, civil and corporate law and compliance matters as well as on new developments (FinTech). He is a SIX-recognised representative and lists securities, in particular ETFs, ETPs and structured products, on the SIX Swiss Exchange and the BX Swiss.
Urs Hofer was educated at the Universi‐ty of Zurich (lic. iur., 2004) and holds an LL.M. degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LL.M. Banking Law and Financial Regulation, 2012). Before joining Walder Wyss, he worked for over a decade with various financial institutions and law firms spe‐cialising in banking and financial law.
Urs Hofer practices in German and English. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.
