Urs Hofer is a coun​sel with the Ban​king& Fi​nan​ce Team in Zu​rich. He spe​cia​li​‐ses in the re​gu​la​ti​on of fi​nan​ci​al ser​‐vices and fi​nan​ci​al in​sti​tu​ti​ons and the struc​tu​ring, is​su​an​ce, lis​ting, tra​ding and of​fe​ring of fi​nan​ci​al in​stru​ments with a par​ti​cu​lar fo​cus on as​set ma​‐nage​ment, de​ri​va​ti​ves and struc​tu​red pro​ducts and all ty​pes of open-end and
clo​sed-end collec​ti​ve in​vest​ment sche​mes co​ver​ing all as​set clas​ses and in​‐ves​tor ca​te​go​ries. Urs Hofer re​pres​ents do​me​stic and in​ter​na​tio​nal fund ma​nage​ment com​pa​nies, as​set ma​na​gers, re​pre​sen​ta​ti​ves of for​eign collec​ti​ve in​‐vest​ment sche​mes, dis​tri​bu​tors, banks, se​cu​ri​ties firms, in​suran​ce com​pa​nies, pen​si​on funds and in​vest​ment founda​ti​‐ons be​fo​re the Swiss re​gu​la​to​ry au​tho​‐ri​ties and ad​vi​ses them in re​gu​la​to​ry, ci​vil and cor​po​ra​te law and com​pli​an​ce mat​ters as well as on new de​ve​lop​ments (Fin​Tech). He is a SIX-re​cognis​ed re​pre​sen​ta​ti​ve and lists se​cu​ri​ties, in par​ti​cu​lar ETFs, ETPs and struc​tu​red pro​ducts, on the SIX Swiss Ex​chan​ge and the BX Swiss.
Urs Hofer was edu​ca​ted at the Uni​ver​si​‐ty of Zu​rich (lic. iur., 2004) and holds an LL.M. de​gree from the Lon​don School of Eco​no​mics and Po​li​ti​cal Sci​ence (LL.M. Ban​king Law and Fi​nan​ci​al Re​gu​la​ti​on, 2012). Be​fo​re joi​ning Wal​der Wyss, he worked for over a de​ca​de with va​rious fi​nan​ci​al in​sti​tu​ti​ons and law firms spe​‐cia​li​sing in ban​king and fi​nan​ci​al law.

Urs Hofer prac​ti​ces in Ger​man and English. He is re​gis​ter​ed with the Zu​rich Bar Re​gis​try and ad​mit​ted to prac​ti​ce in all Swit​zer​land.
