Hendrik is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ninety One. The firm manages over GBP128 billion, primarily on behalf of institutional investors.

Hendrik is a member of the World Bank Private Sector Investment Lab. He serves on the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero Africa advisory council, is active in the Sustainable Markets Initiative, and chairs the Green Investment Principles group for Africa.

In other roles, Hendrik is the Lead Independent Director of Naspers Limited and its European subsidiary, Prosus.

Hendrik holds an MPhil in Economics and Politics of Development from Cambridge University and an MCom in Economics (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University.
