Mauricio Larraín is Full Professor of Economics at Universidad de los Andes, Chile, board member of HSBC Bank Chile, Chair of the Capital Market Advisory Council, member of the Sovereign Wealth Funds Advisory Committee and ICARE’s Circle of Economics and Finance, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. He previously served as Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the Financial Market Commission of Chile, held academic appointments at Universidad Católica de Chile, Columbia Business School, and Stanford Graduate School of Business, and worked in the Research Department of the Central Bank of Chile. He holds a degree in Economics and a Master in Financial Economics from Universidad Católica de Chile, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
