Tom Théobald is the CEO of Luxembourg for Finance (LFF), the Agency for the Development of the Financial Centre, a private public partnership between the Luxembourg government and the financial services industry.
Previously, Tom was the Director for the Development of the Financial Centre at the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance. At the Ministry, Tom was also Member of the Executive Committee of Luxembourg for Finance, a Member of the Luxembourg Trade & Investment Board, a Board member of electricity generation company SEO, and a Board member of the Luxembourg National Data Service (PNED G.I.E.).
Tom also sits on the Advisory Board of the Department of Finance of the University of Luxembourg.
Prior to joining the Ministry in March 2019, Tom was Deputy CEO of Luxembourg for Finance from 2014 to 2019. Before that, Tom worked as Adviser at the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), where he was in charge of Communication and Press relations. He also held the position of Secretary of the ABBL Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the ABBL in 2008, he served as an attaché to the Permanent Mission of Luxembourg to the United Nations in New York.
Tom holds a Doctorate in English Literature from Newcastle University.
