Peter Chan is Executive Director and Product Manager for Enterprise Risk and Performance at MSCI. Peter first joined MSCI in 2000, working across a range of roles spanning product management, client solutions, and implementation services for MSCI's multi-asset class analytics. He spent a number of years in product management for risk and analytics services at a global custodian and asset servicer before returning to MSCI in 2018, based in London. In his current role, he drives product development and strategy for enterprise risk and performance analytics, delivering tools and capabilities that help institutional investors manage risk and make better-informed investment decisions.
Throughout his career at MSCI and externally, Peter has worked closely with institutional clients — including some of the world's largest asset owners, asset managers, and banks — to develop quantitative tools and integrated risk systems tailored to their investment decision-making processes. This has included bespoke solutions for risk budgeting, asset allocation, and performance attribution across sophisticated, diversified multi-asset class portfolios. As the risk technology landscape continues to evolve, Peter's work increasingly spans how modern infrastructure — including AI and automation — can be harnessed to scale these capabilities and meet the growing complexity of institutional risk management. Peter holds a degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
