The notion of “value for money” is being shaped by emerging requirements, supervisory practices, and industry implementations. Real-life examples, such as the ESMA cost data collections, indicate that value for money is getting under close scrutiny. Since investor protection is the central tenet of the independent risk management function, risk managers put this notion into concrete implementation. After reviewing the various requirements, the panellists will highlight what is does or should fall within the remit of the risk managers. Once the risk management topics are identified, the session will focus on reviewing concrete controls processes and monitoring procedures.
