Beate entered the banking industry as an employee of a German mutual savings bank in 1978 and she holds the professional qualification, Bankkauffrau (“Banker”), which is a professional designation for trained employees in the banking and credit system and is used both in Germany and in Austria, which she completed in 1981.
She has spent over eight years as a German Equity Trader for two German Banks at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
She joined JP Morgan Asset Management in 1990, where she has worked as Trader, Portfolio Manager, and Country Specialist for the continental European markets for six years. After that, Ms Beate Gross acted as Client Portfolio Manager for JP Morgan Asset Management for two years. Subsequently, she joined Client Account Management Team in JP Morgan AM Frankfurt before she started her career in Risk Management in Frankfurt in 2000. In 2001 Ms. Beate Gross moved to JP Morgan Asset Management London as Head of Investment Risk.
In 2007 she took on the role as Head of Risk Management EMEA and currently acts as AM EMEA Chief Risk Officer and Conducting Officer for the Permanent Risk Management Function in JPMAME.
Two years ago, the European Risk Management Conference featured a session on “Real assets and semi-open structures”. After the introduction of ELTIF, the panel will take stock of the evolution and progress made in designing new products for retail investors. In this discussion, liquidity remains a central theme as a source of both opportunities and concerns to reach the promises made by ELTIF. In practice, investment managers have substantially called for risk managers help to achieve ELTIF design, launch and operations. The panellists will review what is in the remit of the risk manager is such a project. Drawing from their experience, the ELTIF pioneers will identify the challenges they faced and compare their sometimes diverging responses.
