Mike Sommer is the Head of Risk and Compliance Europe at Schroder Investment Management (Europe) S.A. in Luxembourg, where he also serves as Conducting Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Since joining Schroders Luxembourg in 2019, Mike has led the firm’s risk and later compliance function, overseeing teams responsible for investment and operational risk, financial crime, and regulatory compliance across Europe. Prior to joining Schroders, Mike held senior roles at Franklin Templeton in Luxembourg, where he was Conducting Officer and Head of Risk Management. His earlier career includes audit positions at KPMG and Deloitte in Luxembourg, with a focus on investment funds and financial services.
Mike holds a degree in Economics from the University of Trier and studied at Trinity College Dublin. He is certified as a Risk Management Specialist and has completed advanced compliance training in Luxembourg.
