As part of our mission to support the development of talent and innovation in Luxembourg’s financial centre, ALFI actively collaborates with leading universities and professional training centers to promote academic excellence and specialised training in finance. These partnerships provide students with access to world-class programmes while strengthening the talent pipeline for the asset management and fund industry.
Currently, ALFI supports two master’s programmes delivered in Luxembourg in collaboration with internationally renowned institutions, as well as a range of specialised training sessions.
Through its partnerships with McGill University, the University of Luxembourg and the House of Training, ALFI is building an ecosystem where academic excellence meets industry needs. These initiatives reflect ALFI’s long-standing commitment to preparing the next generation of finance professionals and ensuring Luxembourg’s financial centre continues to thrive globally.
In June 2025, ALFI together with McGill University, the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL) and the Ministry of Finance launch the McGill Master of Management in Finance in Europe.
Globally recognised for its excellence in teaching and research, McGill University ranks among the world’s top academic institutions. The establishment of its MMF programme in Luxembourg is a milestone for both the country’s academic landscape and its financial centre.
The programme combines world-class academic insights with practical experience, notably through student-managed investment funds that provide hands-on exposure to portfolio management, risk analysis, fundraising, and marketing. This unique approach equips graduates with the skills most needed in Luxembourg’s evolving financial sector.

ALFI also supports the University of Luxembourg’s Master in Finance and Economics – Private Assets, a programme designed to address the growing importance of private markets in today’s investment landscape.
This two-year master equips students with a solid foundation in financial economics while offering a specialised track in private assets. The curriculum bridges academic research with industry practice, covering private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and other alternative asset classes that are key to Luxembourg’s role as a global investment hub.
In addition to supporting master's programmes, ALFI works closely with the House of Training, a key Luxembourg institution for continuing professional development, to design training courses covering various aspects of a fund life cycle and industry trends in general. The courses, aim at professionals at all career stages, address technical, regulatory, and soft skills.
Each month, ALFI shares a curated list of upcoming courses via its newsletters, to help industry professionals stay informed and seize new learning opportunities.
ALFI has partnered with the École de Commerce et de Gestion (ECG) to integrate a dedicated fund industry module into the two-year BTS Finance programme, accredited in 2022. Students gain solid foundations in accounting, corporate finance, economics, compliance and fund operations. In their second year, they complete a professional internship within the financial sector, applying their knowledge in practice. This combination of academic training and workplace experience equips graduates with the skills needed to successfully start a career in Luxembourg’s fund industry or continue their studies.
By fostering local and international talent, these initiatives strengthen Luxembourg’s capacity to remain at the forefront of the fund industry and the broader financial marketplace.
