Inclusive Finance Network (InFiNe) Luxembourg to promote inclusive finance

Luxembourg puts a strong emphasis on the importance of sustainable development through financial inclusion by bringing together key stakeholders from the public, private and civil-society sector around this common objective.

This new platform will focus on developing knowledge and expertise by stimulating and coordinating exchange and collaboration amongst members. It will also aim to strengthen and promote Luxembourg as a centre of excellence in the field of inclusive finance by building on its leading position in the financial and development sector.

The presidency is endorsed by Michel Maquil, former president of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, who states: “In the past twenty years, Luxembourg progressively developed to become a pole of excellence for financial inclusion, especially in the field of microfinance. I am delighted by the prospect of extending and diversifying such activities.”

The initial activities of InFiNe will focus on:

• Adopting a stance on key themes in financial inclusion;
• Representing its members at a national and international level;
• Establishing synergies;
• Strengthening the capacity of experts involved in financial inclusions (especially in the field of training and support to end users in financial inclusion).

InFine is the progressive continuation of the former "Table Ronde de la Microfinance au Luxembourg", an informal initiative run for the past ten years.

The secretariat will be based in the House of Microfinance in Luxembourg-City.
