ALFI responds to EBA consultation on proposed RTS in the context of new AMLA mandates

On 6 June 2025, ALFI submitted its response to the EBA’s consultation on the proposed Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS), in the context of the EBA’s reply to the European Commission’s call for advice on new mandates for the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA).
In its response, ALFI highlights the lack of appropriate consideration for measures tailored to the specificities of the fund industry, particularly regarding the role of intermediaries.
ALFI also stresses the need for a more risk-based approach and for targeting genuine risks. Moreover, ALFI warns the EBA/AMLA of the potential risk of undermining the EU's competitiveness and unintentionally increasing financial exclusion if the draft standards are adopted in their current form.
The EBA is expected to submit its response, including the proposed technical standards, to the European Commission by 31 October 2025.
