17 June 2025 | Press Releases
ALFI announced the re-election of Mr Jean-Marc Goy as the Chairperson of ALFI, following its annual general meeting (AGM), celebrated on 16 June 2025. His second term takes effect immediately and will run for two years. A new Board of Directors was also elected.
Jean-Marc, who has participated in a number of ALFI technical committees and working groups over the years, has been a member of the ALFI Board of Directors since June 2019. He was elected Vice-chairperson of ALFI in 2021 and, in 2023, he was elected ALFI Chairperson.
Jean-Marc is Conducting Officer and Board Member of Capital Group’s Luxembourg management company. He has 29 years of professional experience, including 27 years in the Luxembourg fund industry.
Prior to joining Capital Group in 2018, Jean-Marc was Head of the International Affairs Department of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), the Luxembourg Supervisory Authority of the Financial Sector, where he worked for 20 years. Jean-Marc also practiced as an attorney at a Luxembourg law firm between 1996 and 1998. He holds a Master in Law and a DEA from the University of Montpellier and was admitted as a lawyer to the Luxembourg Bar. Jean-Marc is fluent in Luxembourgish, German, French, English and Spanish.
Commenting on his re-election, Jean-Marc Goy said: “I feel honoured to have been entrusted with the presidency of ALFI for a new term of two years. For Luxembourg to remain a leading global fund centre, we must constantly reinforce our attractiveness and competitiveness across both UCITS and alternative products. The recent measures adopted by the government send a clear signal of ambition: a lower corporate tax rate, a broader ETF tax exemption, and a robust DLT framework all point in the same direction. These reforms strengthen our position and give the industry the agility it needs to lead in a fast-changing environment.”
ALFI's Ambition 2030, Goy continued, outlines a clear vision for strengthening Luxembourg's position as a key global fund centre by actively shaping regulation to drive innovation and investor confidence, while connecting expertise and fostering innovation to complete the private assets value chain and enhance operational efficiency through technology. Furthermore, ALFI aims to promote Luxembourg funds globally through targeted market engagement, and crucially, to anchor the sector more firmly in society by pioneering inclusive investment access and fostering greater representation within the industry. This comprehensive strategy seeks to ensure Luxembourg remains a competitive, innovative, and socially responsible hub for asset management.
