Video launched to highlight contribution to Luxembourg economy
The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) launched a video campaign in Luxembourg cinemas to demonstrate the benefits the fund industry brings to the Luxembourg economy, and the opportunities that a career in the fund industry offers.
“In this milestone year we wanted to let a wide audience in Luxembourg know more about the Luxembourg fund industry,” said Marc Saluzzi, Chairman of ALFI. “Over the last 25 years it has grown to become a main contributor to the Luxembourg economy and we should ensure that people here know about the success, and are aware of Luxembourg’s leading position in the global fund industry. Importantly, we need to let people know about the benefits funds can bring to their own finances, and the attraction of a career in the industry.”
Since ALFI was founded in 1988 the fund industry has become a pillar of the Luxembourg economy, bringing 14,000 jobs to the Grand Duchy. The efforts deployed by the industry, the Luxembourg government, the CSSF and ALFI have made Luxembourg the second largest fund domicile in the world, and the largest in Europe, with funds being distributed to 70 countries.
The film was presented at a gathering of the industry at the Grand Theatre on 2 July, opened by Minister Luc Frieden, who said: “The international success of the Luxembourg fund industry is a major achievement. The expertise we have built up in Luxembourg over the last 25 years will enable us to further develop the industry going forward.”
“Luxembourg should be very proud of its fund industry and the important contribution to the national economy. It is important that we continue to build on these foundations to ensure another successful 25 years” concludes Mr Saluzzi.
