ALFI and ALFP’s joint response to the Call for Advice to EIOPA on the IORP Directive

In April 2011, the European Commission asked EIOPA to provide advice on the legislative framework for Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provision (IORPs) by mid–December 2011. EIOPA invited market participants and occupational pensions stakeholders to provide comments by 15 August on the “Draft Response to Call for Advice”.
EIOPA’s draft response to the Call for Advice on the IORP directive relates to the following issues : the scope of the IORP directive, the definition of cross-border activity, the scope of prudential regulation, and aspects of the governance of IORPs.
