ALFI’s Investor Centre update covers introduction of Key Investor Information Document (KID) in English, French and German

30 June 2011 | Press Releases

ALFI’s Investor Centre has been updated to cover the changes introduced by the UCITS IV Directive, which was scheduled to be transposed into the national legislation of EU member states by 30 June, 2011.

The revised text includes details of the Key Investor Information Document (KID), which must be produced for each UCITS fund and offers information on the key elements of the fund’s investment policy, risk profile and performance, as well as where potential investors can obtain further information on the fund. The KID is required to be written in plain, non-technical and jargon-free language that investors can understand without reference to any other documents. Funds established before 1 July, 2011 have a transition period of one year, up to 1 July 2012, to replace their existing simplified prospectus with the KID.
