Mobilising household capital for pension savings: towards a European investment framework

Under the Savings and Investments Union (SIU), the European Commission is seeking to better mobilise Europe’s large pool of household savings and channel it more effectively into long-term, productive investment, including through pensions. A key objective is to strengthen funded and supplementary pension provision by improving access to simple, cost-effective investment products, enhancing financial literacy, and removing barriers to cross-border participation and scale.

In an engaging fireside chat, representatives from the Luxembourg and the Netherlands' sister asset management associations will explore how a unified European framework could help accelerate these objectives.

Structuring success: unlocking Luxembourg’s AIF advantage

Luxembourg has cemented its status as Europe’s leading hub for alternative investment funds. This panel will explore the Grand Duchy’s versatile fund structuring toolbox – a comprehensive range of vehicles and regimes enabling sponsors to tap into institutional, private wealth and even retail investor pools. Panelists will highlight which fund setups are driving fundraising success across these investor categories, and unpack the latest regulatory developments. Key focus areas include the impact of the CSSF’s new Circular 25/901 consolidating rules for Luxembourg’s SIF, SICAR and Part II fund regimes, and the implications of AIFMD II – from enhanced liquidity management tools to a harmonised framework for loan-originating funds – poised to shape Luxembourg’s competitive edge.
