Savings and Investments Union: Empowering people, boosting competitiveness

The EU needs stronger, more competitive financial markets. This is what the Savings and Investments Union seeks to achieve. The EU’s fragmented capital markets hinder both savers and businesses, pushing investments abroad and limiting job creation and economic growth. The goal is to improve citizens’ access to capital markets, thereby increasing their wealth and well-being, and give more financing opportunities to businesses. Key priorities include removing barriers to market integration and making supervision more efficient and harmonised.
