The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) represents the face and voice of the Luxembourg asset management and investment fund community. The association is committed to the development of the Luxembourg fund industry by striving to create new business opportunities, and through the exchange of information and knowledge. The association was set up in November 1988 to promote the development of the Luxembourg investment fund industry. Luxembourg is the largest fund domicile in Europe and the second-largest fund centre in the world behind the US. Its investment fund industry is a worldwide leader in cross-border fund distribution. Luxembourg-domiciled investment structures are distributed in more than 70 countries around the globe.

ALFI commits to further enhance Luxembourg’s position as the international fund centre of reference, recognised as open, reliable and innovative by investors, policymakers and industry alike.

Governance

The Board of Directors, elected by the members, appoints the Executive Committee. Both are supported by the ALFI Strategic Advisory Board, which acts as a think tank, and the Regulation Advisory Board, which identifies, assesses and monitors upcoming regulations and consultations. The latter also mandates Working Groups to prepare draft ALFI positions and submits them to the Board of Directors.

The ALFI team

ALFI employed 31 people at the end of 2019, including staff at the Brussels and Hong Kong offices. There are four departments in Luxembourg: Administration, Industry Affairs & Statistics, Legal & Tax, and Business Development with Communications and Events. Get to know us!

CSR policy

ALFI represents the interests of a financial industry worth over 4,000 billion euro. Fully aware of its own governance, environmental and social responsibilities, in 2017, the association successfully renewed its ”Entreprise Socialement Responsable” label by the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (INDR). ALFI’s CSR policy is based on three pillars: a commitment to the highest industry standards, active involvement of our members in everything we do and irreproachable internal management.
