Permanent Risk Manager for a Management Company

The Risk Manager will implement the risk management policies and procedures of the Management Company and will report to the Conducting Officer in charge of Risk Management.


Your Responsibilities


As Risk Manager you will be responsible for a wide range of activities. Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Performing regulatory risk management for investment funds of the following types: UCITS, fund of funds, securities-based AIF, real estate, private equity, debt and infrastructure
  • Perform risk assessment for existing and new products, determination of risk profile, risk limits (market, credit, liquidity, counterparty, operational); monitor compliance of the risk profile with the risk limits and escalation to the senior management when necessary
  • Conception and development of fund specific risk profiles
  • Producing regular risk reports with special emphasis on market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk and operational risk
  • Performing and developing stress-testing and backtesting
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory, fund specific investment restrictions (transactions and ongoing) and the risk limits of each sub-fund are properly implemented
  • Advising departments, investment managers and service providers during fund setup concerning risk disclosures and investment restrictions
  • Responsibility for disclosures in official fund’s documentation or reports
  • Draft of risk related policies and procedures and provide support concerning the policies and procedures adopted for the valuation
  • Monitor the liquidity of products and perform stress tests
  • Provide regular updates to the conducting officers and the governing body
  • Provide reporting to the CSSF and to the investors
  • Interaction with portfolio managers, investors, auditors, and the competent regulatory authorities
  • Overseeing and managing the relationship with the risk system service provider
  • Ad-hoc tasks to assist the growth of the business and ensure smooth running of daily activities
  • Knowledge transfer to the other team members and especially new colleagues
  • Continuously improve the risk reporting and monitoring



What you offer:

  • University degree, preferably in Mathematics, Economics, or comparable studies
  • At least 5 years professional experience in risk management for investment funds with focus on investment funds
  • Solid regulatory knowledge regarding Luxembourg fund law, UCITS, CDR, ESMA guidelines, CSSF circulars, etc
  • Knowledge regarding otc-derivatives and asset valuation is a plus
  • Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • VBA and other programming skills are an asset
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as team orientated
