Accessing UCITS

UCITS (in full, Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferable Securities) is a term that applies to the majority of investment funds in Europe. It comes from a European Union directive that provides a harmonised set of rules governing how these funds should be structured and managed, and provides a very high degree of investor protection. Funds that meet these rules can be registered for general sale to the public in any EU country.
