Welcome to the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI). The Investor Centre is intended to serve as an easy-to-understand guide to the world of funds and investment. Our goal is to answer questions frequently asked by investors and to explain important aspects of the investment fund business, from the relationship between risk and return to the significance of diversification.

The ALFI Investor Centre explains how investment funds work, the different types of investment funds as well as the rules and safeguards that apply. Here you will learn how you can work out your personal investment profile and identify the funds that match your needs. We also look at how your investment goals could develop throughout your lifetime and how you might adapt your investment choices accordingly.

 

Today more and more investors are turning to investment funds as a way to help them achieve their financial goals. Many people can now no longer rely solely on a state pension or a comfortable company pension, and funds have become a key tool in planning for retirement. This issue is all the more important today, since the ongoing lengthening of average life expectancy over the past decades has meant that the time period for which retirement must be financed is growing longer all the time. Now, after a few years of the turbulence caused by the crisis in the financial sector have given many people reason to worry about their savings, investors are naturally becoming more interested in deepening their knowledge of funds and capital investments so they can set the right course for the future.
