Why join ALFI
Take advantage of our broad range of services:
Our members are offered a platform for discussions about key industry issues, for reaching common standards, developing best practice recommendations and articulating with one voice feedback on initiatives of the European Commission and other international institutions. All of these activities are undertaken and coordinated by the ALFI Technical Committees and Forums, which are open to all ALFI members.
Luxembourg has built its success upon European legislation and ALFI contributes to further strengthening this framework. ALFI is one of the biggest contributors to EFAMA, the European Fund and Asset Management Association and is represented on the Board of Directors and on the Management Committee of EFAMA.
As Luxembourg products are increasingly widely distributed throughout the world, ALFI has supported the incorporation and the development of the worldwide federation IIFA, the International Investment Funds Association. ALFI is represented on the Board of Directors.
To maintain and raise professional practice standards in the Luxembourg financial centre, industry initiatives and recommendations are developed within Technical Committees and Forums, and shared with ALFI members through the publication of Guidelines and the presentation of ALFI Breakfast Seminars and Technical Committee Plenary Sessions. An exclusive joint-venture with IFBL, Institut de Formation Bancaire Luxembourg for technical training focusing on the investment funds industry is another ALFI industry initiative.
Our members are kept abreast of developments in the fund industry by regular bi-annual ALFI conferences, specific topic conferences and regular exclusive Breakfast Seminars and Technical Committee presentations. ALFI also regularly joins up with other Luxembourg associations to present topics of interest to the fund industry community (add a representative list: ALFI ILA session on the ALFI Code of Conduct, ALFI PriM Risk Management conference, etc.).
The regular update of our website www.alfi.lu, dispatch of regular newsflashes to our members, electronic newsdigest and printed newsletters to the greater investment fund industry community, statistical bulletins, as well as the publication of brochures on product development opportunities and ALFI annual reports, are our main communication tools.
The promotion of Luxembourg as the prime domicile for global investment funds is another key activity. ALFI organises, together with its members, promotional seminars in cities around the world and participates regularly in the Financial and Economic Missions organised by Luxembourg for Finance-LLF and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
Our members benefit from regular opportunities to network at the ALFI conferences and seminars, within technical committee working groups and at other ALFI events.
